New Members Welcome!

SAW is always actively looking for new members and to aid this we encourage prospective members to come along to one or two club nights to find out more about the club before joining. We do not charge admittance for these two evenings but encourage visitors to take part in the raffle to contribute towards the costs of running the event. We would expect someone to join on their third visit. If you attend as a visitor please sign in at the door and make yourself known to a Committee Member.

Our programme of events has a mixture of professional turners and SAW members demonstrating different aspects of wood turning. Our practical nights are more social, with members demonstrating, a quarterly club competition, and time to meet and chat. There is a club shop which holds a small stock of turning items for sale to members. More information on these and other facts about the club can be found in the club handbook .

We have a mentoring programme to help people new to turning get started and periodic events aimed at showing members specific ideas and techniques, as well as our annual Open Day

The SAW newsletter is available online. Through this, we aim to keep members informed of events, and developments as well as advertising items for sale.

We have events where we promote wood turning within the community and if you are interested in getting involved in any of these we will explain how to participate in club notices and within the newsletter.
